Hack The Squeeze Episode Summary

The show opens with Mike and Dr. Ambrose waiting outside in the lobby of the courthouse as the D.A. Landi questions Mikey. They've been in there an hour, but finally they Mikey, Heather, and Mike's Attorney, Bettina, come out saying that Mikey did just fine. Although Bettina says that Landi is still listing Mikey as a possible witness. Mike then has a little talk with Mikey saying that he was sorry that he had to go through this but things will be fine.

Next, we're at the police station. Marcellus' alibi for the murder of Tammi, Zeke, has now changed his story. Instead of being with Marcellus for an hour (during which time Tammi was murdered) Zeke is now saying he was only with Marcellus for 10 minutes. So, Marcellus could have murdered Tammi. Marcellus is enraged and dashes into the questioning room to physically assault Zeke. They're dragged apart and as Marcellus is leaving, Tammi's brother, Brian overhears Marcellus say that he did not kill Tammi. Brian immediately assumes that he did and thinks the cops are just protecting their own, but he's dragged outside. The police captain then takes Marcellus' gun and badge and says there will be a hearing and he may or may not get them back.

Marcellus shows up at the strip club which Trepov owns and in Trepov's office asks him if he knows Zeke and why is Trepov framing him for Tammi's murder. Trepov denies everything. Marcellus leaves, but not before noticing a photo of some military types on Trepov's wall.

Upon leaving the club, Marcellus is accosted by Brian, who is attempting to kill him with a tire iron for killing Tammi. They struggle, and finally Marcellus subdues Brian saying that he didn't kill Tammi but that he's going to go find out who did.

Meanwhile, Mike arrives home at Faith's house where she's prepared this glorious meal for him. Salmon, green beans, wine. Mike is exhausted and testy after the days legal proceedings. He makes a few comments about the day and they begin eating. Faith starts asking about what happened and Mike just says, "Lets just eat." This pisses off Faith, because that's what her father (a cop) always said. Then, Mike's cell phone rings, and from the caller ID Mike says it's Marcellus. He doesn't answer the phone, though, saying, "I'm sick of helping people." Moments later, however, the doorbell rings and it's Marcellus.

This makes Faith even madder, but Mike goes outside to talk to Marcellus. Marcellus tells Mike that IAB thinks he murdered Tammi and begs Mike to go talk to Zeke, see why he's lying about the time he spent with Marcellus. Mike is pissed, he doesn't want to do it. Marcellus says that Mike helps every joe who comes into his cab, he can give him 5 minutes. Finally stuffing Zeke's address in Mike's pocket. Mike returns to the house, leaving Marcellus standing there.

Back inside, dinner resumes. As Mike silently eats, Faith finally asks if she should just pack his dinner so that he can go off and help Marcellus. Mike says it will only be a few hours, and finally Faith says just go do you want, and leaves the table with her glass of wine.

Next, Mike is at Zeke's and forces his way in. He starts beating up on him and asking him why he's lying. Zeke just says that he's not lying and that Mike isn't as tough as his drill instructor at Camp Lejeune. Mike leaves.

Back at Faith's house, Mike comes in and Faith is sitting on the staircase having a cig. She asks Mike what he wants. Mike apologizes, but Faith just says that Marcellus is using him. And she just can't take anymore. Mike asks her what he can say, and she replies, why don't you say goodbye. They kiss one last time and then Mike leaves, dropping off her keys on the table as he walks out.

It's the next morning and Mike's on a rooftop somewhere drinking coffee and Marcellus comes up and asks Mike what Zeke Shepard said about his alibi. Mike is hungover from having too many drinks the night before after breaking up with Faith. He reports that all Zeke told him was that his drill instructor at Camp Lejeune was tougher than Mike. And kept insisting that he was only with Marcellus 10 minutes (thus ruining Marcellus' alibi for Killing Tammi). And Mike said he believed him. Mike says they can be cellmates and the two of them reminisce about how long they were partners and how once Marcellus saved Mike at some domestic disturbance case and they have a chuckle together.

Mike gets a cell phone call from Heather, apparently he was supposed to meet her at 9:00 AM and it's now 11:00 AM. Cut to Heather's house, where Heather tells Mike that Dr. Ambrose proposed to her and she accepted. But that she hoped it wasn't that hard for Mike to hear since things were going so well with Mike and Faith. Mike tells Heather that he and Faith broke up. They both look at each other, sadly, while Mike admires her giant diamond and calls her Mrs. Ambrose and comments about how now she'll be moving to the suburbs. Heather says she's going to tell Mikey after school, and hopes that Mike will support her decision when he talks to Mikey. Mike promises to do so.

Cut to the strip club where Trepov holds court. Marcellus bursts into Trepov's office, rips the picture of the military types that had been on the wall and smashes it on Trepov's desk. Saying that he'd found out that both Zeke and Trepov had been in the Marines, together, and they'd both been booted out 10 years prior for drug violations. And that's why Zeke was lying about the alibi. Trepov says he could care less, he doesn't need Marcellus, anymore, he's got bigger fish to fry.

Cut to Heather's house where Mike and Mikey have a chat about Heather's upcoming nuptials. Mikey is very sad, but as promised, Mike supports Heather's decision and tells Mikey things will be fine and that he will see Mikey often. They hug, it's a very wonderful scene.

It's night, again, and Mike is getting some take-out from a deli. Upon returning to his cab, he finds Rossi in the back seat of the cab. After snitching some of his food, Rossi tells Mike that Marcellus is doing something stupid after finding out Trepov and Zeke were in the Marines, together. Mike questions this info (Marcellus being such a liar) but Rossi says he's seen the file, himself. And now Marcellus is over at Zeke's to confront him. Mike needs to go help him.

Back at Zeke's place, Marcellus is indeed beating up on Zeke, trying to make him tell the truth. Mike joins in and finally they decide they'll just call Trepov. Zeke relents, then, admits he lied about not being with Marcellus for the time when Tammi was killed , but there's nothing they can do about it; he's sticking by his story. Because if he does tell, Trepov will kill him.

Walking away from Zeke's, Mike asks Marcellus what's really going on. Marcellus tells Mike that Trepov murdered Tammi because Tammi witnessed Trepov offing the drugdealer, Freddie Trout. Marcellus finally admits that Trepov has videotape of him giving drugs to Tammi, not cash. And so, Trepov has this hold over him. Mike asks Marcellus if he has any bright ideas of how to get Zeke to change his story short of killing Trepov.

Cut to a graveyard, where Tammi's brother, Brian, is putting flowers on her grave. Marcellus strolls up and tells Brian that he knows who killed Tammi but noone is going to move on him. For 'political' reasons. Of course, Brian flies into a rage, and in the next scene is shown killing Trepov with a tire iron in an elevator.

Later, Mike is watching the evening news where they are reporting the murder of Trepov by Brian. Mike is appalled and gets up and goes out to the strip club, and sure enough, there's Marcellus going in. Mike accuses Marcellus of using Brian to kill Trepov. Mike's all disgusted with this, they exchange words, and then Mike starts walking away. Marcellus then shouts out after him that Mike is going to turn him in. Mike just leaves.

Marcellus goes into the night club and to Trepov's office. Zeke is there taking papers out of a safe in the floor, but Marcellus zonks him with the telephone. Then, Marcellus starts pawing in the safe and finds not only the videotape of him, but also numerous other video tapes, presumably of other people and some cash. He gives some of the cash to Trepov's girl (the moonlighting law student) and tells her to get out. She leaves. He then just takes the entire case with the video tapes and the rest of the money.

Next day and Mike and Bettina (his lawyer) are in D.A. Landi's office. They've made a deal, Mike will talk (about Marcellus) and in return get a misdemeanor charge with no jail time. Landi, however, is very obnoxious and pisses Mike off. Finally, much to his lawyer's dismay, Mike loses his temper and tells Landi that he has nothing to say and storms out of his office.

It's night, again and Marcellus is lurking around Landi's house. Landi asks him what he wants, since Marcellus is no longer under suspician for the Tammi murder as Zeke has changed his story. Marcellus says he's there for Mike and shows him the tape he got from Trepov, supposedly showing Landi enjoying the favors of one of Trepov's prostitutes. Marcellus says the price for the tape is Mike getting just the misdemeanor charge and no jail time.

Next day in the courthouse, Mike is sitting on a bench, as in the hallway Landi and Bettina are talking. The latter comes back to Mike and Mike apologizes for screwing things up. But Bettina says he's done, Landi has agreed to the misdemeanor and no jail time, case closed. Mike is shocked asks her what happened. Bettina says she wanted to know the same thing.

It's now moving day for Heather and Mikey, as they load up the moving truck to move to the suburbs. Mike and Heather share a final hug. Mike then takes the "For Sale" sign off the lawn and says that he got some $ from selling his father's house and wants to buy their old place. Mikey loves this idea and Heather agrees. They drive off. Sadly.

It's the next day, and Mike is standing in a public park. He sees Marcellus, happily together with his wife and roughhousing with his son. Marcellus comes over to Mike. Mike says funny how things worked out, Marcellus still has his family, his job, and Mike's driving a cab, no family, etc. And he also says that he knows it was Marcellus that got him off, but he doesn't know how. But he thinks the price was Brian. Marcellus says nothing. Mike says, doesn't that bother Marcellus, but it really doesn't. But Mike says that it really bothers him. Marcellus asks Mike what he's going to do and Mike just makes a blowing off gesture with his hand as he walks away from him.

It's night, again, and Mike's driving around in his cab, picking up fares. There's an older guy that stiffs him on a tip, two drunken girls, etc. Mike is looking pretty much like he did in the first episode. (the visine, etc) Then, it shows the cab driving across a bridge, where Mike sees a man up on the structure, looking like he's getting ready to jump off. Mike just drives by, but after going a little way, he reverses the cab. Gets out, starts talking to the potential jumper. Telling him he doesn't want to do this and why don't they get some coffee and go talk. The jumper finally climbs down, gets in the cab and they drive off.

Fade to the credits.

It was really a good episode ... pretty much brought us back to where the series initially started.
